On Transparency and Sustainable Beauty
Not your typical packaging — meet pure transparency.
You might’ve been surprised the first time you saw our Face Film packaging.
After all, it’s something rarely—if ever—seen in the world of cosmetics:
a package that feels truly pure.
Even our developers at House of B, with years of experience in skincare,
wondered at first — Can we really do this?
And yet, we chose to move forward with this transparent design.
Why?
Because we believe in something you’ve likely heard many times before:
sustainability.
———
Did you know that most sheet mask films aren’t recyclable?
Once printed, these films are almost always destined for the trash.
To achieve visually appealing packaging,
most cosmetic containers end up marked as “non-recyclable.”
Amid this reality, House of B discovered something different —
a 100% recyclable film made of mono-material polypropylene (PP).

We were deeply drawn to the eco-conscious vision behind the material.
Even when the manufacturer advised against it —
explaining the film was still in the testing phase —
we moved forward with production without hesitation.
Because we believed in its purpose.
———
But as they say,
the first path is always the hardest.
The journey of using a film no one had ever used before
was filled with challenges at every turn.
“It’s an overseas material — just sourcing it takes over four weeks. Are you sure you want to proceed?”
“The pricing will be significantly higher than average.”
“The film doesn’t seal properly. The defect rate is too high.”
Still, we didn’t back down.

And yet, despite every obstacle,
we ran tens of thousands of sealing tests—
until we finally discovered the optimal temperature
to make it work.
Even when everyone advised against it,
we were determined to use this film.
Because it’s a material that can be recycled
immediately after the film is removed—
a truly sustainable solution.
We chose it with one hope in mind:
to make even a small difference
for today’s environment, and for the future.
At House of B,
we remain deeply committed to the resources we use,
and continue to set clear goals
for a more sustainable future.
